She founded American River Montessori in 2007, bringing her vision of a nurturing, child-centered learning environment to life. Since 2008, she has been actively involved in the school’s daily operations, ensuring that each child receives individualized attention and a rich educational experience.
Debbie holds a Montessori credential, a master’s in Child and Adolescent Development, and she is certified in the Program for Infant/Toddler Care (PITC), which reinforces her deep understanding of early childhood development. Additionally, she has received specialized training in inclusion practices through WestEd, enabling her to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all children.

Kathy Saldana is a dedicated teacher at American River Montessori, where she has worked for the past six years. With a passion for child development and education, Kathy plays an integral role in supporting the learning and growth of the students she works with. She is bilingual in Spanish and English, making her a valuable resource in fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
Kathy graduated from California State University, Sacramento in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and a minor in Counseling. Her background includes a wide range of experiences, from babysitting and working with infants to teenagers to volunteering at community centers and elementary schools, where she supported students from 1st through 8th grade.
Known for her love of teaching and nurturing children, Kathy brings warmth, patience, and enthusiasm to her role at American River Montessori, helping children thrive in their formative years.
